JACK Up Christmas had the right amount of fizz to go off with a bang at the weekend.

Two party nights were hosted by Jack Up Events at Lower Hyde Holiday Park in Shanklin, starring '90s DJ Dario G on Friday, and The Fizz (formerly Bucks Fizz) on Saturday.

The Fizz performed to a sell-out crowd, when Cheryl, Mike and Jay sang all their greatest hits and threw in a number of festive favourites.

They returned to the stage to rapturous applause for an encore of their 1981 Eurovision winning smash Making Your Mind Up.

The audiences embraced the retro theme and came clad in bright neon, and glow sticks were given out on entry.

Dario G played a two-hour set and was supported by Urban Cookie Collective.

Event manager Sarah Moss said: "It was great to go back to where it all started. Having held numerous gigs at Lower Hyde in the past we've always had a fondness for it, as it's a superb venue.

"In the '80s and '90s there were so many fantastic nightclubs on the Island — Zanies, Colonel Bogeys and Patsy's — and Islanders who spent their Friday and Saturday nights partying the night away are now thrilled to have something with an original disco vibe.

"Stand by for the original hitmakers from the '70s, '80s and '90s and the original Isle of Wight nightclub DJs appearing at soon to be announced Jack Up party nights, including one at the end of February next year."
