A WOMAN was taken to St Mary's Hospital this morning (Friday) after she was hit by a car.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at Morton Common, Brading, at around 9am.

The collision involved a single car and the female pedestrian.

She is not believed to have been seriously injured.

A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said one crew, from Shanklin, was sent to make the scene safe.
