AIR RAID warning sirens were sounded in Yarmouth as the town stepped back in time with a 1940s party at the Bugle Coaching Inn.

The pub was transformed to wartime days with features including blacked-out windows, air raid sirens, speeches from Winston Churchill and Lord Haw-Haw and vintage films, with music provided by T&A Sounds.

There was a special menu which featured dishes from the day including corned beef fritters, bubble and squeak, rabbit stew and Lord Woolton pie.

Organiser Helen Mawson said: "The pub was made to look very patriotic with lots of flags and memorabilia from the '40s.

"Everyone joined in the fun and dressed up for the occasion. Quite a few of our customers also brought in their own bits and pieces to add to the spirit of the evening."
