PETER Rabbit escaped Mr McGregor's garden at the weekend — and visited the Isle of Wight at the weekend.

The popular Beatrix Potter character spent Saturday and Sunday at Tapnell Farm Park, where he delighted the visitors young and old.

Kimmi Scadgell, the farm's events manager, said: "Our Wild Woodland Weekend with Peter Rabbit was so well received, it was lovely seeing all the little ones having such a wonderful time.

"Peter Rabbit was amazing. We’d also like to thank Haven Falconry Bird of Prey Centre for bringing their owls, Save the Hedgehogs Isle of Wight for bringing Norman their rescue hedgehog who was so cute.

"Also thanks to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, as everyone enjoyed hearing about all their important work and meeting their animals too.”
