A SHOP owner has been left devastated after his business was broken into for the third time in just five months.

Gamal Ragheb put CCTV on social media showing a youth who smashed his way into Zest Gift Shop, on High Street, Sandown, in the early hours of Sunday.

The youth entered the property at least twice, filling his bag with vaping products worth more than £4,000.

Several residents in the town recognised the burglar and many gathered outside his home, before phoning the police to report his name.

Gamal said: "This yob stole from my shop at 2.30am and went back at 4.07am.

"He smashed into Zest Gift Shop stealing more than £4,000 of my stock. The boy with a fringe, Nike backpack and hooded jumper had the cheek to come back during the night, filling his rucksack.

"Through the winter we really rely on our vaping stock as we don't sell so much of the tourist gifts, so this is a huge loss to us.

"We were insured, but each time this happen, our insurance premiums and excess goes up and up. It is devastating for us."

Gamal's family has set up a crowdfunding page to help the business recover, at www.gofundme.com

IW Police confirmed: "This took place between 2.15am and 4.10am. Stock and money from the till were taken.

"A 17-year-old boy from Sandown has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, aggravated vehicle taking and property damage, and possession of a class B drug.

"He remains in custody at this time."
