IT'S the 26th year of pantomime for The Panto Players — oh yes it is!

The theatre group, of the Isle of Wight Community Club, Cowes (formerly the Plessey Club) is celebrating their anniversary with a highly anticipated production of Robinson Crusoe and the Pirates.

Dominic Myers has been directing and starring in the Panto Players productions for ten years, but has stepped down from his starring roles as the dame character to concentrate on directing this latest show.

It has all the traditional characters from the pantomime dame with her long-suffering husband, to the dashing hero aiming to marry the true love of his life, to the evil villain with his side-kick, an ethereal sea spirit, and cannibals.

The cast boasts a range of ages from keen and talented teenagers to the more mature founder members of the Panto Players.

The show is on tonight (Friday) at 7.30pm and tomorrow (Saturday) at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets are £4 and can be bought at the bar or by calling 07989 303000.
