A KIND Isle of Wight child has set himself a target to buy 200 children a gift for Christmas.
Tao Carson, ten, decided he wanted to do his bit and raise enough money to fulfil his challenge and donate it to the Official Christmas Toy Appeal, which is run in conjunction with Isle of Wight Radio.
He sought help from his mum Karyn, who runs The Price Is Wight.
Tao said: “Sadly, so many girls and boys on our Island don’t get any gifts at Christmas.
"This makes me very sad. I want to make a difference, so I set myself a goal to raise enough money to buy 200 people a nice gift and make their Christmas special.
"I have been doing chores at home to collect some money, and I have been selling old clothes I don’t need and my old toys I no longer use.”
Tao wrote a letter to many of the businesses The Price Is Wight works with and asked if they would donate a small gift or voucher which could be raffled off to raise money.
He was over the moon when so many replied to say they would pledge their support.
Tickets can be purchased through The Price is Wight website, for just £1 each. The draw takes place in December.
