HEAVY rain has affected parts of the Isle of Wight, with some roads suffering flooding as a result.

Areas of Freshwater Bay and the main road have been submerged, with the car park most notably afflicted.

Highwood Lane in Rookley also has a significant body of water.

Photographer Paul Blackley snapped a photo of the flood in Freshwater Bay.

UPDATE: The flooding in Freshwater has continued to cause problems with one pub being forced to close part of its venue.

The Vine Inn in Freshwater remains open for business but has been forced to close half of the pub after floodwater caused damage to the floors.

Owner Sammi Keen said: "It’s bowed the floor so it’s very wobbly when you walk across and there is lots of water underneath the carpet"
