FIRE services are on their way to a suspected blaze in Chale Green after receiving a call from a concerned passer-by.
Crews from Shanklin and Ryde were called to the property in Corve Lane at 1.27pm.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight fire service said: "A pedestrian became concerned when they heard an alarm and noticed visible smoke in the lounge of a property in Corve Lane.
"Services from Ryde and Shanklin are currently heading to the area, and haven't yet booked in their attendance."
More to follow.
UPDATE 2.07pm: The smoke was a result of a small fire, which was extinguished with a bucket of water. The cause appears to have been logs around a burner, which were subsequently removed from the property. The crews stepped down shortly before 2pm.
