ISLE of Wight based opera company, Project:Opera, has two exciting new concerts this month.

On Friday, November 8, Project:Opera will be hosting Bird Song at St Catherine's Church, Ventnor, at 7pm.

Soprano, Annalisa Vaughan, and celebrated Isle of Wight pianist, Steve Parker, will be performing a varied programme of songs and piano pieces on the theme of love and loss.

Director of music at the Minster, Steve is a multi-skilled and versatile musician, as well as a talented composer, whose work regularly takes him around the world.

He is one of the three main music directors at Project:Opera, and is passionate about bringing opera to Isle of Wight audiences.

Artists will be donating profits from the event to local charity, The Caring Cancer Trust.

On Saturday, November 30, Project:Opera will be presenting internationally acclaimed pianist, Gergely Kaposi, at Newport Minster at 5pm.

After a precocious career as organist and choir master, Gergely graduated at the Franz Lizst Music Academy and joined the Opera House in Budapest as conductor and repetiteur — a prestigious position he held for two decades.

Here on the Isle of Wight, Gergely will be performing a piano recital of music by Bach, Beethoven and Bartok, with Verismo arias sung by soprano, Annalisa Vaughan.

Half of proceeds from ticket sales will go to Newport Minster's disabled toilet fund — to help make the beautiful and central venue more accessible to both congregation and concert audiences.
