Brading man in custody on suspicion of possessing a knife in a public place
A MAN is in custody after being arrested on suspicion of carrying a knife in a public place.
Members of the public alerted the police that a man was carrying knives in High Street, Brading, yesterday afternoon (Monday).
A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 4.48pm with reports of a man said to be carrying knives in High Street, Brading.
"Officers attended and arrested a 47-year-old man from Brading on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place.
"He remains in custody at this time."
