TJ’S GYM in Lake raised £1,100 for charity with a Spin the Decks cycling event.

The gruelling four-hour spin session was held at the Lake fitness centre, with DJ Tony Martin providing musical motivation for the 35 fundraisers.

Proceeds will be shared between brain tumour charity the Wight Brainy Bunch and the Cambodia Project, to build a water tower at a remote primary school in the Siem Reap province.

The Cambodia Project was founded by TJ’s owner Steve Marsh, who said: "Eight of us will be living in tents in Cambodia from the second week of November, joining forces to get the tower built, allowing the school access to clean drinking water.

"It was a phenomenal effort by everyone involved, and we are ecstatic to have raised more than £1,100 for two charities that are close to our hearts."
