A PHOTOGRAPHIC competition is being launched by the Freshwater and Totland Archive Group with the theme, Freshwater and Totland Villages In Time.

The inaugural competition is open to original work from amateur photographers and the group is looking for stunning photographs of the landscape, old buildings and memorials from around both villages.

Entrants can submit up to two photographs, as prints, in colour or black and white. Prints must be as large as a standard postcard or A4. The pictures should not be digitally enhanced.

The judges will choose one winning picture from each category. These will win a £25 gift card. The overall winning picture will receive a £50 gift card and trophy.

The competition is open to everyone in three age categories: children up to 14, youths aged 14 to 18 and adults.

Closing date for entries is Monday, December 2.

Entries to be sent or handed to: Mrs L Barnes (Chairman FATAG), 7 Trevanions Way, Totland Bay, PO40 9UU.

A prize presentation and display of photographs will be held on Monday, December 16, at Freshwater Methodist Church Hall, Brookside Road, from 4pm to 6pm.
