EMERGENCY services were called to a two-car collision outside Tapnell Farm this morning (Saturday).

Paramedics, police and fire crews were called to the Middle Road crash, near the road leading to the farm, at around 8.20am.

Freshwater Fire Station tweeted: "Multi agency response to a two vehicle RTC near Tapnell this morning.

"Two adult female casualties have been passed into the care of the Ambulance Service.

"Freshwater and Newport fire crews in attendance."

A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a road traffic accident at 8.20am where we transported two people to St Mary's Hospital."

Tapnell Farm has told its customers: "There has been a crash this morning between Tapnell Farm and East Afton Farm.

"Cars are being turned around and we would suggest a diversion of Wilmingham Lane, Thorley and then Broad Lane."
