AN EXTRA special announcement was made at the wedding of Holly MacGillivray and Edward Day — when they told guests they are expecting their first child in April.

The couple, who first met at Bembridge Coast Hotel, were married at Fernhill Meadow, Wootton, where the reception also took place.

The bride, a sales and marketing executive, is the daughter of Patricia and Iain MacGillivray of North Wales.

The bridegroom, a dental surgery owner at the St James’ Clinic in Newport, is the son of Teresa and Tim Day, of Melville Street, Ryde.

The bride wore a vintage Bardot three-quarter length dress handmade by Heather Cochran of Ryde.

She carried a blue wildflower bouquet, made by Pauline Vincent of Newchurch.

She was attended by bridesmaids Becky Hughes (bride's sister), Georgia Day (bridegroom's sister), Sarah Walker, Kristy Tornerup, Elin Hawke and Angharad Griffiths.

She was given away by her father.

James Gordon-Bartlett, a childhood friend of the groom, was best man.

Jeni Law, of Island Celebrants, officiated.

The honeymoon took place in Menorca, Spain.
