DISTRESSED children were rescued from a metal structure at Freshwater Skate Park.

The two children had climbed up but found themselves unable to get back down.

The fire service was called this afternoon (Sunday).

Freshwater Fire Station sent a crew to rescue them.

They said: "We just returned from assisting two distressed children down from a metal structure at Freshwater Skate Park.

"Safety advice was given to remind children at the scene of the dangers of scaling fences and other similar structures."
