A MOTORCYCLIST who willingly confessed to police he was banned from driving, when officers stopped him in Carisbrooke, has been banned again.

Gary Lindsay, 53, of Union Street, Ryde, was disqualified for 15 months following a drug driving conviction in June last year.

He appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates again last Tuesday (September 17), where he admitted to driving while disqualified, after he was stopped in Carisbrooke High Street on July 31.

The court heard he told the officer who stopped him: "I'm banned, mate."

Barry Arnett, defending, said: "He was just tying to move his motorbike so he could sell it.

"It's a shame as he was only a couple of months away from the end of his original ban."

Magistrates added an additional three months to Lindsay's driving ban.
