THE Brading Scarecrow Festival kicks off today (Friday) — and there are some fantastic creations on display around the town.

Now in its fourth year, the festival has been well supported by Brading residents who have taken inspiration from topical issues such as Brexit and plastic pollution.

Others have opted for all manner of fun scarecrows — entries include a hedgehog, astronaut and Queen Victoria.

The scarecrows will remain in place for more than a week for visitors to enjoy. Free trail maps are available from local shops and the Brading Youth and Community Centre.

Next Saturday (September 20), a fun day will be held at the community centre, with a human fruit machine, welly wanging, face painting and a magic show.
