AN ISLAND beauty business has held a fundraiser and celebration in a bid to raise money to re-open their Ryde shop.

Indulge Me, makers of bath bombs, soaps and cosmetic products, kicked off the event in the day with an afternoon for children, letting them make their own bath bombs.

Then in the evening the September 7 event packed out Bar 74 on Ryde's Union Street as guests were treated to live music from groups such as Whomp, King Stammers, Greg Barnes, Liam Burke, Tyler Gorman and The Ventnor Darlings.

The Night also saw a silent auction with items donated from bushinesses across the island to be sold, from the likes of Mermaid Gin to Ryde Commodore theatre.

Guests were treated to a goody bag of items from the budding brand as well as entered into a raffle to win a basket of their hand made soaps and bath bombs.

Owner of Indulge me, Kayt Gorman said: "The main thing I want to express is just how astounded we are at the sheer amount of support we received both from our own community and from businesses across the Island.

"The night itself was absolutely amazing, we had a raffle, there was a buffet and we provided everyone with a free drink and a thank you bag.

"We didn't expect, when we announced a silent auction, that all these businesses would be so keen to donate lots for us to auction off.

"Even the Ryde seafront Ice Cream Kiosk lent us a Mr Whippy machine with all the equipment so we could make ice creams for the children.

"We always want to give back to the community, but the support from other businesses has just been bringing us to tears, I think that's truly an Island thing."
