A DRAG comedian who was born and raised on the Isle of Wight is returning to debut her brand new live show.

Jacqui Swallows honed her craft on the Island before making her name on the mainland, but is returning to debut her new live show, Jail Bait, in Newport.

Jacqui said: "Think of the show as Jacqui's own personal Room 101 with all the morons she believes should be inside it.

"The show is great fun and always attracts a great crowd on the Island with fantastic support.

"I even have my own group of fan girls, all well over the age of 60, so one has to be careful not to laugh some of them into the grave."

The show is an over 18s only event as Jacqui is known for her sharp tongue and forthright opinions.

Jacqui plans to take on the Edinburgh Fringe next year, but has never forgotten the Isle of Wight.

She said: "I’m an Isle of Wight girl through and through, attending Lake Middle and Sandown High School.

"I’ve been coming back for three or four years now, working in drag.

"I began performing at comedy nights across the Isle and then became heavily involved in Isle of Wight Pride, and World Pride 2018, as a patron and designated host for the main stage."

Jacqui has been unveiled as Fairy Godmother in Ventnor Theatre Group's forthcoming pantomime, Cinderella Live in Concert.

Jail Bait is on at 7pm on September 28 at the Camp Hill Community Sports Club.

Tickets can be purchased via jacqui-swallows.eventbrite.co.uk or from the venue.
