SETTING off a 'flea bomb' triggered a fire alarm — and saw two fire engines rushing to a property in East Cowes.
A 999 call came through about the fire alarm, and the IW Fire and Rescue Service sent one engine from Newport and one from East Cowes — initially treating the incident as a possible fire.
They headed towards the property, on Anchorage Way, just before 3pm, but turned back when the occupant of the property phoned to say they were not needed.
They had simply been using a flea bomb to decontaminate the property.
