AN OPEN day to see the latest works by the Britten-Norman Aircraft Preservation Society is being held on Isle of Wight Day.

The workshop, at the Brickfields site, near Ryde, will be open from noon to 4pm on Saturday, September 21.

There is no admission charge but donations can be made.

Visitors will be able to take a close look at the restored Islander G-AVCN now undergoing final assembly.

There will be a video running about the history of the restoration project and the opportunity to try out the desktop Islander flight simulator.

Tea, coffee and cake will be available at no charge and there will be merchandise on sale.

The workshop is reasonably accessible, but dogs are not permitted.
