Floating Bridge not running due to 'mechanical failure'

A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Council said: "The Cowes Floating Bridge is out of service this morning due to a mechanical failure, the Jenny Boat will be in service for foot passengers."

UPDATE 4.30pm: 

A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Council said: "A replacement foot passenger launch will operate tomorrow from 4am in the morning, up until 11pm in the evening, between Cowes and East Cowes.

"This is while engineers investigate an issue with the Floating Bridge ramp/prow assembly.

"We will keep you updated on when the vessel will be back in service and apologise for the inconvenience."
