A TEN-YEAR-OLD old girl made her solo debut at the Wight Proms.

Grace Dempsey was invited to perform at last weekend's event by founder and G4 member, Mike Christie, after her recent success at the Isle of Wight Music, Dance and Drama Festival.

Grace, from Ryde School, attends Fusion Arts Academy, takes singing lesson with Joanna Willey and. at the festival, won the Mark Radford Award for the most promising under 18 vocal performer.

Grace was over the moon when she received the invitation to perform and decided to sing one of her favourite songs, Castle on a Cloud, from Les Miserables.

She said she enjoyed every moment of the experience and couldn't wait to perform again.

"I am super proud of her," said mum, Rachel.

"I think she is so brave to go up on that stage and perform on her own in front of all those people.

"She works so hard with her singing and it's paying off."
