AN ISLE of Wight woman has had her head shaved for charity, raising more than £1,000 for the Macmillan Cancer Trust and gaining a fresh new look in the process.

Sue Richardson took part in Brave the Shave, a worldwide cause that has raised almost £1.6m this year alone for cancer research.

The shave took place at LR’s Hair Salon in Scarrots Lane, Newport.

Sue said: “This charity is close to my heart and that of my family.

“I would like to extend a huge amount of gratitude to Laura-Ann Richardson for allowing me to do the shave at her salon, and to my husband and family for all of their support with this.

“I am grateful to everyone who has donated and overwhelmed by their kindness.”
