IT'S THAT time of year again — Isle of Wight Stormtrooper Ben Allen is setting off on another mammoth charity challenge.

This year's fundraiser, Ben's Imperial March 3, will see Ben and his team attempt the famous Three Peaks Challenge — to climb Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, and Snowdon in Wales, all within 24 hours.

As always, Ben, from Cowes, will be dressed as a Star Wars Stormtrooper.

Previous Imperial Marches have seen Ben, and his team, walk from the Isle of Wight to London and Paris.

Ben said: “It’s something Simon, Matt and I, my team, have always wanted to do.

“This is slightly different from previous years, where we walked to Paris and London from the Island.

"Being more of an endurance thing, we have to sleep properly, eat properly, and run against the clock, something that brings its own excitement to the game."

Proceeds will go to Isle of Wight children's charity Layla’s Trust.

“We decided to stick with Layla’s trust, having created such fantastic memories and formed such a positive relationship with the charity — they still have goals that they want to achieve and we’re extremely proud to have become ambassadors for their cause,” said Ben.

Ben and his team, who will be supported by Wightfibre, will set out early tomorrow (Friday).
