THE 36th annual Calbourne Horticultural Show was dominated by stalwart exhibitor Barbara Isaacson — who took home the Donald Wroe Perpetual Cup for most points in show.

All-rounder Barbara took first place in a variety of categories, winning prizes for her courgettes, eggs, sweet peas and cakes.

The event, held at Calbourne Recreation Centre, was organised for the third year by Angie and Neil Clayton.

Angie said: "We had 68 exhibitors showing 270 exhibits, which was about 60 exhibits up on last year.

"Barbara did ever so well, as usual. She's a regular at the show and deservedly took the top award."

Certificates of merit were awarded to Zoe Rhind, who also racked up the points, and Lillian Munt, aged just four, who entered the show for the first time.

The event raised £250 which will be used to help maintain the recreation centre.
