THE annual Tea at the Towers event raised more than £2,500 for St James' Church, Yarmouth.

IW Lord Lieutenant Susie Sheldon opened the fundraiser, which was held at the home of John Caulcutt.

Committee member Janet Harding said: "The total was £2,650 which is better than usual, even though we didn't have as many stalls this year.

"People were very generous with their donations. It was a lovely afternoon with great weather and the music was excellent."

Music was provided by the Quaynotes and Brass Monkeys and stalls included knitwear, cards, tombola, crafts, jewellery, scarves, books and cream teas.

There were also antique valuations and a grand raffle.
