THE Isle of Wight's first boardgame cafe has opened, where customers can play games over a drink and slice of cake.

Board, which has more than 200 games available, was opened earlier this month by Karen and Chris Longhurst and Andrew Jolliffe.

It has already proved successful, with people flocking to the first social games night.

The Upper St James Street cafe has a huge selection of games available to play, including classic boardgames such as Cluedo and Monopoly, card games, fun games like Jenga and more complex games such as Arkham Horror and Settlers of Catan.

Karen said: "The social events are the kind of thing where you can come in on your own and play games with new people. We will also be opening up soon to group events and parties.

"We're stocking local products, such as locally made cakes, and we are zero-plastic wherever possible.

"We are also the only Island stockist of Big Potato games, which is a lovely British boardgame company."
