A 23-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault on an emergency worker and a public order offence
POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of attacking three police officers and is also suspected of a public order offence this afternoon (Thursday).
The police officers have been left suffering with minor injuries after the attack at Newport Police Station at 5pm today.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Police said: "A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and assaulting three police officers following an incident at Newport Police Station shortly after 5pm.
"He remains in custody at this time. The officers suffered minor injuries."
