A LITTLE girl who lost two brothers in tragic circumstances has had her long hair cut off to help others.

Demi McBride, eight, was determined to help after her cousin Jenson Collis was diagnosed with cancer aged just five.

He has now recovered but it spurred Demi on to grow her hair for the Little Princess Trust.

Demi has been through a lot for her tender years. Her older brother Mikey Mason was killed in a car accident on Brading Downs in September 2017. He was 20 years old.

Another brother, Harley Mason, also known as Harley Girven, died in June at the age of 19 after taking an illegal drug known as a punisher.

Their mother, Bonnie McBride, said: "Life has been really hard. All that happened within 22 months

"Demi had her hair cut off two days before Harley's funeral, she just really wanted to do it.

"She wrote her own little speech and read it at the funeral, which was amazing as she can be quite shy. It was very sweet."

Demi, of East Cowes, also has father Rikki, and two other brothers, Rory, 11, and Darcy, 13.

Bonnie said: "Demi's new hairstyle really suits her. Thanks go to hairdresser Hannah Herbert."
