AN AUTHOR who penned a comic book adventure set on the Isle of Wight will be signing copies of his work tomorrow (Saturday).

Russell Sheath wrote the story Radar Raiders, about two young Islanders who discover a secret German plot during the Second World War to invade the Island.

He said: "They always say write about what you know, and I know about the military, comic books and the Isle of Wight.

"The story draws from my childhood playing soldiers on the downs around Ventnor, its a real boys own adventure story, a real classic, slightly retro story."

The story was published in July's edition of Commando Comics, with artwork by Keith Burns who has previously drawn for comic legend Garth Ennis.

The signing will be held Heroes in Newport, between noon and 1pm.
