SKATEBOARDERS are enjoying a healthy summer holiday thanks to a grant from supermarket Asda.

The store presented John Cattle's Skate Club with a cheque for £550 for a Healthy Holidays Grant.

The money will be used to pay for fruit, healthy snacks and water to give to children attending free skateboard sessions throughout the summer.

The sessions will be running at various skateboard parks across the Island, incorporating about 300 children.

Newport Asda's community champion, Clare Jones, said: "It is great to be able to support our Island community, especially with healthy eating."
