TONIGHT'S Ventnor Carnival has been cancelled due to the poor weather.

Ventnor Carnival Committee announced this afternoon that for health and safety reasons, the procession would not be going ahead.

Earlier today, the children's parade was also cancelled, and instead judging took place at St Catherine's Church.

There is an illuminated carnival scheduled for Saturday night.
