COWES Carnival celebrated its 123 year with its traditional parade through the town.

In all those years, there has always been six girls selected to be queens and princesses, and this year was no different.

Despite it being cold and wet, and a busy day for the town with a visit earlier in the day by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the carnival was undefeated.

The Cowes float had a rock and roll theme, complete with jukebox and guitars.

The town's illuminated carnival takes place on Saturday, August 24, at 9pm.
