POLICE are investigating after a lorry driver failed to stop at the scene of an accident.
A pedestrian suffered a fractured ankle, reportedly after a collision with the lorry, and was taken to hospital.
An IW Police spokesperson said: "We were called following an incident involving a pedestrian and a lorry on Carisbrooke Road, Newport, at around 10.30am on August 12.
"The 36-year-old man suffered a fractured ankle and was taken to hospital.
"The lorry did not stop at the scene.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
