TWO sailors were brought ashore by the Bembridge RNLI Lifeboat in last night's (Thursday) choppy conditions.

The lifeboat was launched at 10pm at the request of UK Coastguard, to help the two crew members in a 20ft day sailing boat from Chichester.

They were moored off Seaview, after being caught out by the increasing wind and sea conditions, and had planned to spend the night on the boat.

However, due to the rough conditions, one started feeling very sick.

Rather than risk using their small tender to get ashore, they asked the coastguard for assistance.

Bembridge RNLI's Norman Harvey Lifeboat brought them safely ashore to Sea View Yacht Club.
