EMERGENCY services have been called to a car fire in Calbourne this evening (Thursday) which has left a man being treated by paramedics.

A crew from Newport Fire Station and paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were called to the Middle Road in Calbourne after the car left the road, shortly before 8.30pm.

A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: "A car has left carriageway due to a vehicle fire, but fortunately no-one was trapped."

A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Ambulance service said: "We attended to a male in his 20s with minor cuts and lacerations."
