SONGS of Praise is coming to the Isle of Wight this month.

The popular and long-running TV programme is joining Wight Proms and will star the audience.

On August 28, Northwood House in Cowes will play host to an outdoor evening of hymns, as members of the public are invited to join the congregation.

Series director, Emyr Afan, said: “This recording is a wonderful opportunity for local singers to come together for an evening of music-making for broadcast on BBC One.

"Songs of Praise has been championing Christian music for more than 55 years and continues to be enormously popular due to recordings like these.

"We really hope you can come along.”

The event is set to be broadcast nationwide in late September and entrance to the event will be free, although tickets should be booked.

Mr Afan added: "Songs of Praise has been championing Christian music for over 55 years and continues to be enormously popular due to recordings like these and we really hope you can come along.”
