FRONT counter receptionist Helen Marsay has been the smiling face of the County Press for the last 28 years.

Now she has retired from the business to concentrate her time on visiting family, baking and cooking.

Her prowess at cake making has been legendary in the office and she was known for her offerings to colleagues, friends and for big events.

So, aptly, the Great Helen Bake Off was a suitable send off with workmates baking their own goods for Helen to judge.

Advertising sales person Matt Fuller was the winner, pleasing a critical Helen with his efforts.

Helen, 65, started at the County Press on the day Brannon House opened, October 28, 1991, but her link to the Brannon name was even older, as she was born in the former home of CP founder George Brannon in Wootton.

Helen will continue to live in East Cowes with husband, Kevin.

She said, "The thing I will miss most is the customers; they were so kind when I left.

"I will also always remember the happy family of County Press employees I have worked with over the years."
