LIQUIDATORS have been appointed at Olivo in Ryde — but a spokesperson at the restaurant today (Wednesday) insisted it would remain open.

According to a notice published in The Gazette, Mike Hall and Andrew McTear, of McTear Williams and Wood Limited, have been appointed as joint liquidators of the company.

Creditors have been advised to contact the liquidators by midnight tomorrow.

When asked for a comment by the County Press, a spokesperson at the Union Street restaurant said it was closing for a week for refurbishment, before it was taken over by another company.

"The whole idea is the new ownership will help keep the jobs," he said.

"We have been having some difficulty but the restaurant isn't closing down."

The Newport branch of Olivo closed in January.
