BABY Phoebe Bradley enjoyed her first birthday party on Saturday — the milestone occasion her family never thought they would see.

Phoebe was joined by mum Hollie, dad Peter, brother Blake and other family members and friends at Northwood WI Hall.

Phoebe defied the odds to reach her first birthday.

As reported in the County Press, she suffers from a severe form of life-limiting genetic disorder Edwards' syndrome, also known as trisomy 18.

"It is a rare but serious genetic condition that causes a wide range of severe medical problems, and sadly, most babies who have it, die before or shortly after being born.

Hollie said: "Phoebe had a wonderful birthday. The sun was shining and everyone had lots of fun.

"Phoebe enjoyed seeing all her family and friends. We asked for donations to charities that had helped Phoebe, instead of gifts, and people were generous, raising more than £300.

"Everyone sang Happy Birthday to her. We will remember it forever."
