LANESTARS School of Dance held its 17th annual show, featuring routines performed to musical hits.

The show, Lanestars on Broadway, included favourite songs from Grease, Phantom of the Opera, The Sound of Music and Newsies, set to a verity of dance styles.

The show also saw the introduction of acrobatic dancing, a new style of dance for the school.

Kirstie Lane, instructor and founder of Lanestars, said: "We did ballet, tap, Jazz and acrobatic performances.

"We had our first ever acrobatic exams this year and so we decided to stage a show and they were doing these huge tumbles.

"We're the first school on the Island to sit the exams."

Lanestars on Broadway featured around 80 children, some as young as two, who performed two packed shows over a weekend.

Kirstie said: "I'm so proud. The show just gets better and better every year.

"The ones who are 16 now have been with me since they were two and I've watched them grow up.

"Its like I've become a part of their family and I'm just so very proud of them."
