A YELLOW weather warning for fog has been issued by the IW Met Service this morning (Monday).

The IW Met Service said: "Low cloud and coastal mist in the west will become more widespread and will gradually spread across many parts of the island through the night and as it does so it will become rather dense in places.

"By dawn widespread fog patches are likely with locally very poor visibility.

"Expect travel delays, especially if you are travelling at first light. Cross Solent travel is also likely to be affected.

"The fog will gradually burn off after sunrise with long sunny spells developing by mid morning although a few localised fog patches may linger on the east and south coast until midday."

The fog is expected from 9pm tonight until 10am tomorrow morning.
