A BUSINESS that supports care workers has been launched on the Isle of Wight.

Walking Angels is a new introductory and support service, specifically set up to support care workers, whether they are self-employed or work for an organisation.

Founders Carly Harding, managing director and Andy Hibbert, operational director, have identified the key support tools to assist care workers in their work, as well as supporting and balancing their private lives and wellbeing.

They have accommodated these support tools within their service, which they believe is a new concept of caring for those who care.

They said: "It is vital that we put in place support and care for our own carers, to enhance their lives, make them feel valued and supported with training, tools to do their jobs, counselling, regular health checks and wellbeing.

“As a small, family-run Island provider, we at Walking Angels believe care workers should easily benefit from resources, training, and group counselling — with the support all in one place.

"That’s why we have launched our membership programme. Walking Angels aim to provide those resources, currently sadly lacking, and bridge the gap.

“We offer e-learning through a reputable Care Quality Commission approved trainer, Careskills Academy.

"We also offer the opportunity to attend regular local group counselling sessions.

"Joining our community forum will enable carers to build relationships with others in the care community, together with exclusive trade discounts for our members through Brosch Direct, monthly newsletters and updates, networking groups and forums.

“We are very excited at the prospect of supporting Island care workers through their journey.

"If you are a care worker, we invite you to launch with us."
