Car crash on Military Road ­— emergency services called to the scene

At 3.50pm, a fire engine from Newport arrived on the scene with police in attendance.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: "One vehicle was found to be on its roof in a field, but no one was trapped."

UPDATE 5.30pm:

Police have confirmed that a single vehicle was involved, and had rolled into a field. 

The driver is on his way to the hospital.
