A FUNDRAISING weekend in aid of a veterans' charity is taking place at the Railway, Ryde.

The pub even takes place from Friday evening until Sunday evening.

The pub is hosting a weekend to raise awareness of, and funds for, Forgotten Veterans UK, a Portsmouth-based charity that helps veterans recover from any trauma they have suffered during service.

The weekend will feature live entertainment, with a barbecue and raffle taking place on Saturday.

It has been organised by Dale Hillier, who served on HMS Intrepid during the Falklands War in 1982 and on HMS Antrim in Granada in 1983.

He has since suffered PTSD and now wants to do something to help others in a similar situation.

On Friday, the band X Directory is playing.

On Saturday, Frampwood Mac is playing from 2pm to 6pm and Charlene Duncan is performing from 8.30pm.

On Sunday, Milo is playing from 6pm.
