A MAN charged with the Briddlesford Road hit and run crash has been remanded in custody by Isle of Wight magistrates.

Benjamin Entwistle, 31, of Westlake Avenue, Lake, appeared before magistrates this afternoon (Monday) via video link from the court cells.

He faces four charges in relation to the Briddlesford crash on Thursday, June 27 — causing injury through dangerous driving, driving while uninsured, driving while disqualified and failing to stop and report an accident.

Mr Entwistle did not enter a formal plea.

The two most serious charges — causing injury through dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident — were adjourned to the Isle of Wight Crown Court on August 12.

The other two charges were provisionally adjourned to the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on August 13.

Mr Entwistle was remanded in custody.
