ISLAND MP Bob Seely dropped in to meet the West Wight Men in Sheds and see their new premises in Totland.

The Over-50's group has moved from an old maintenance shed on Totland Turf Walk to the former changing rooms on the Recreation Ground after being given a 10-year lease by the parish council.

Secretary Ian Wright said: "Mr Seely contacted us requesting to visit our shed and to find out more about the work we do, both in the shed and within the community.

"He was joined by local councillors and we showed them around our rest area, where we have now installed a computer, and explained that we are offering basic computer skills courses to enable people to set up an email address and how to send and receive emails.

"We also showed them around the workshop and explained about the projects we have done recently including the Sentry Box at Fort Victoria, the raised allotment beds for West Wight Time Bank and painting the outside of the FYT Bus office in Totland."

Men in Sheds meets each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 3pm.
