FERRY provider Red Funnel has changed its logo to incorporate the LGBTQ+ colours in honour of upcoming Pride events.

The company has altered the logo on the side of the Red Falcon to include the iconic rainbow colours of the Pride community.

Red Funnel’s chief executive, Fran Collins, said: “Inclusion and diversity are fundamental to our culture and core values.

"Equal opportunities are available at Red Funnel to everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, belief, sexual orientation, family status or disability and the essence of the Pride movement underpins this same ethos."

The change was timed to coincide with two upcoming Pride events — IW Pride on July 20 and Southampton Pride on August 24.

Ms Collins said: “The Pride logo on our ferry, Red Falcon, which we’re dubbing 'Pride Funnel', represents so much more than Red Funnel showing its support for the LGBTQ+ community.

"It’s a reminder that it is vital to ensure that our workplace is a safe, positive, and nurturing environment for everyone. It’s a declaration and a commitment that we will continue to respect and strive to understand one another and embrace diversity within our workplace."
